Finding a rich husband may be a bad business deal, or so an anonymous 25 year old woman was advised recently.

The woman, who posted an ad on the New York Craigslist.org was looking for advice on the best way to acquire a husband who made, at minimum, more than $500,000 a year. This may seem like a large sum, but on Wall Street, where bankers can earn yearly bonuses of up to $10 million, an annual salary of more than a half of a million dollars, while not exactly common, is not unheard of, either.

The ad was answered by a so called “mystery banker” who claimed to fit the qualifications, and offered the anonymous woman some advice, after describing her proposition as “plain and simple a crappy business deal.”

“Your looks will fade,” he said, in an online response to her posting. “And my money will continue into perpetuity. . . in fact, it is very likely that my income increases but it is an absolute certainty that you won’t be getting any more beautiful!”

“So in economic terms,” he continued, “you are a depreciating asset and I am an earning asset. Let me explain, you’re 25 now and will likely stay pretty hot for the next 5 years, but less so each year. Then the fade begins in earnest. By 35 stick a fork in you!”

A report that a banker from JPMorgan Chase was responsible for the ad posting responses has been dismissed by the bank as “an error.” According to Brian Marchiony, spokesman for JPMorgan Chase, a banker’s email signature became accidentally attached to the ad and responses when he forwarded them on to his friends.

A spokeswoman for Craigslist.org told the New York Times that the posting and responses, both of which have since been removed, “looked as if they were made sincerely.”

According to the InternetDatingGuide.com, 30% of all Americans have used an online matchmaking site or service in the past year. 10% of these people reported that posting ads on sites like Craigslist.org also figured into their online date seeking.

Additionally, they all contained out-of-date information, had no e-mail support, no money back guarantees, and broken links in the downloads section.

In conclusion, almost all of the programs I found were completely useless. The owners knew it, but they couldn’t care less about their customers since they didn’t offer refund policies! Amazingly, while looking through all of the programs, I actually did find a few legitimate programs. They were run by ordinary people like you and me, and they had found some great methods of making money from their home by doing very little work.

I spent some time working with those programs, and my income is now ten times what it used to be. These programs provided a large amount of great information on how to make extra money on your computer doing very little work. Numerous customers had provided great feedback and reviews for their products. Many of them have started to make money just days after buying!

Their programs have excellent prices, and the authors have a group of paid staff who are dedicating to helping you or providing assistance if you need any. I must say I was amazed! Market Research


It may be surprising, but many entrepreneurs start a business without really understanding the market they plan to serve. You must know the potential size of your market and, in turn, what sort of response your service or product will attract:

Demographic Data

Don’t try and sell something unless you know the buyers have money to spend. Know the numbers behind your market, including income levels, age breakdowns and if your target market is growing or shrinking. Sources of demographic information may include various governmental or taxing authorities and, on a more local level, voter rolls (invaluable if you want information on the ages of your market target).

Customer feedback

An equally important element of market research is getting a personal sense of your customers. Ask what they genuinely value, no matter if it’s a low price, customer support or a particular element of your product or service. If you’re gearing up a new business or modifying an existing product, ask if your business can solve some sort of ongoing problem.”It’s really effective research to identify problems that aren’t being solved,” says Peter Meyer, author of “Creating and Dominating New Markets.” “Do interviews on a regular basis and, if someone isn’t a customer, ask them why not. Competition

But, says Meyer, pay attention to every element that contributes to your eventual prices or fees. “Price really is more of a marketing tool than it is a vehicle for cost recovery,” he says. “People will pay more for a high value product or solution, so be sure to research your total value.”

Location

This is particularly critical for retail operations. Ask any prospective landlord if they have a foot traffic analysis on hand. First-hand observation is always a good option; examine walk-in traffic, parking spaces and other nearby businesses that may help or hinder your customer flow. Don’t thoroughly dismiss the issue of location if you’re not selling jewellery or clothes. A conveniently located office at a prestigious address can be a boon to a start-up consulting firm. Review any available buying data and trends for people who live in that area.

Research Your Costs

Knowing your expenses is essential in estimating how much you’ll need to bring in to stay in business. Research prospective costs thoroughly. Include everything from salaries to rent. For at least the first year or two, break down those costs in three-month increments. And, adds Gumpert, it actually helps to be a bit macabre when forecasting expenses: “Things are probably going to cost more than you expect, just like it’s probably going to take longer to land your first client than you anticipate.”

What’s Enough?

Although sufficient research is vital to the growth and success of any business, there is a point where enough becomes too much. Don’t become so mired in research that you end up with too much information to make a decision. Watch to see how your research is borne out in reality. If, for instance, you’re hitting your income goals or matching what you expected in walk-in traffic, your research is on the mark. And, adds Meyer, take note of repetition: “If you’re asking questions and you keep getting the same answers over and over, you know you’re in the right place.”

Many people were hoping that if the Democrats won control of Congress they would reverse the online gambling ban, but experts doubt they will even try or that if they do that the will be successful.

Once the bill was passed and signed into law by the president, it became much harder to reverse the law.

The democrats would need to bring up the law and get it to a vote, then after the vote passed it needs to go to the president for his signature. The problem with this is that the current president is the one who signed the bill into law in the first place.

Another problem is because the gambling ban was attached to another bill, it means that to reverse the law the entire bill needs to be reversed, but the other part of the bill is for an increase in port security, so any congressmen who recommends reversing this law, will be going on record as trying to reverse the increase in port security.

Because of this trying to get the law reversed could ruin a congressman’s chances of ever getting elected to public office again for the rest of their lives.

It is more likely that it will have to wait till the end of George Bushes term in office and then get an amendment to the law that reverses only gambling ban part of the law.

So if you are on Online Gambling enthusiast and you were hoping that after the election the online gambling ban would just disappear I am sorry to say you were mistaken and that you are going to have to wait a little longer, but that does not mean you need to sit quietly by.

The key is to make sure that you are heard, write letters to congressmen, and attend protest rallies anything that will keep this issue in the front of the minds of the politicians so they know that just as the Republicans lost the house so can they.

The republicans used the online gambling ban to try to gain votes for them in the last weeks before the election, but it backfired on them and lost them more votes then it brought in.

Hopefully the Democrats will learn from the mistakes of the Republicans and will understand that banning something never works, and that it is only thru regulating the online gambling industry that will ensure that it is safe and honest to play and that no underage children manage to play.

Other wise I am sure that the Democrats will also see the wrath of the American voters when it comes time for the next elections.

The American people are tired of having the government controlling every aspect of their lives and I think this election may have made their point for them.

So if the question is will they try to reverse the law I am sure they will try, but how successful they will be is still up in the air, and no one can really know what the outcome will be.
